I like to play with photo prompts on Instagram
and this week one of those prompts was upside down.
Birds at Fountain Lake here in Richmond.
So I flipped this photo
and something about the birds flying into the bottom corner made my brain buzz
(and maybe made me feel a tad dizzy.)
Pipeline walk in downtown Richmond.
As much as I get a certain routine comfort in knowing I can plant myself on the couch in front of the TV at night,
eat the same salad,
make the same gluten-free chocolate chip cookie dough (oh the burden),
or walk the same pipeline,
crackling synapses can be pretty cool.
Virginia Beach Pier
And oh how I crackled (and snapped and popped) at the feedback I got from the story I’m working on now.
Let’s just say I had to remove a couple of “pier legs”.
But the structure is way better.
Thanks to a new perspective.
Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg National Military Park
Wishing you a Happy Tuesday!
And Happy National Odometer Day (thinking about this holiday oughta keep your brain fires stoked).
What’s got your brain firing and crackling?
xo
LOL! Those photos really make me whacked out!

Still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that Odometer Day is actually a thing… O.o
But wow, those pics do mess with your mind! Amazing what a different perspective can do. 😀

Yes, the odometer thing had me shaking my head. Funny, right? 🙂

Now I’m awake. Thanks. Pickett is in heaven? Poor man. Hard to live down (up?) one of the most famous disasters in Southern history. And those birds. Especially appreciate the floating multi-directional ducks? Geese? Grebes?

At that lake there’s a mix of birds–Canadian geese, pigeons, and even some gulls. I had fun playing with them. Every time I walked to one side of the water they’d all fly en masse, as if they’d been choreographed!

Thanks for shaking me out of my comfort zone and making me see things a different way! Love your photos, as always.
And yay for making cool changed on your ms!

Love the upside down pics. Never hurts us to see things in a new perspective. We often learn something we didn’t know. Or at least we’re more open to the possibility. 🙂

The first one made my brain hurt! the second to last one reminds me how air is just like water. I often look at trees similar to the plant life under the ocean.

Actually, the birds didn’t trip me out, but the pipe walk and the pier did! Love getting a different perspective on things.

Thanks, Jennifer. Yeah, I think the pipe walk is the one that makes my head swim a bit.

Interesting. My neck hurts from twisting so that the pictures were right side up. Thanks for that.
What fun to experiment with cool technological stuff. I can barely find the camera icon on my phone.

Goodness, but I love all of these. Especially the second, the Pipeline walk. The color and pattern in that one is gorgeous! And yes, the first one made me dizzy, too. But in a good way.

Thanks, Mary. The pipeline is a pretty cool spot here. Not if you’re dizzy though (unless you don’t mind a dip in the river). 🙂

Your post was like taking a ride on a roller coaster! Those pictures really did make me dizzy, especially the pipeline one. That’s crraazzyy!
I need to look at ordinary things from a different perspective more often. I think that’s a great way to approach life. 🙂
Hope you had a wonderful Mom’s Day!

Lol, I guess we could pretend we are out in space! Yes, dizzy comes to mind. Those are great inspiring photos Coleen. Even if the world is upside-down. 🙂

Thanks, Karen. Isn’t it just like the world to be upside down at times?? 🙂

There is a saying to “stand on your head” to see something from a different perspective. You may gain insight you didn’t have before. Looking at your inverted photos made me see things I would not have before. Inspiring post. Some made me feel dizzy, but my favorite was the tree and the sky. Made me feel small in such a huge universe.

Loved the picture of the Gettysburg National Park! It was beautiful. These images were inspiring and though I’m prone to motions sickness, I didn’t get dizzy at all. 😉 Perhaps it was the beauty. Mathair and I love different forms of expression through art and these photos are a prime example.

Thanks so much! Serene and solemn are 2 words that described walking around Gettysburg for me. So this pic reminds me of that. 🙂
