Enthusiasm.
According to Tennessee Williams it is the most important thing in life. Yet it is vulnerable, open to being preceded by such downer verbs, like curb or lack or wane.
But still, it’s there like a tiny spark ready to be fanned by a funny blog post, an inspirational quote, a military hero, the smiling face of a child, a furry kitten, Monet (or a glass of Moet), a great book, a teacher (shout out to Kristen Lamb), or even a very enthusiastic Beyonce fan.
“Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars.
Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait.
The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.”
-Henry Ford
So, let your sparkle flag fly and have a great weekend!
A baby/child’s smile/laugh or look of wonder or surprise, a thoughtful gesture, a beautiful day, cute animals, a cozy fire, snowflakes, raindrops on flower petals, streams/rivers/lakes/oceans, sunrise, kindness, generosity…. I guess I could go on for a while… and of course your posts 🙂

Nice post! I could use some enthusiasm today. And the video was a good reminder for me to never sing on camera, no matter how excited I may be, or even if Beyonce is holding the mic.

The look on that fan’s face was truly priceless! My daughters are an inspiration to me. Something well written, well said, or well executed. I also loved going to see Def Leppard in concert recently. It reminded me of past enthusiasm… 🙂

Oh, I love Beyonce! I totally embarrassed myself at a wedding doing her single ladies dance…lol. Oh, and Fridays…I am very enthusiastic about Fridays….and puppies, spending time with friends, cooking while having a glass of wine, trying something new. Whew…I feel enthusiastic just thinking about these things! Have a great weekend!

We take for granted the mundane things in life and yet there is so much to be enthusiastic about in the everyday activities and encounters. Thank you for the reminder, Coleen!

Hey there Coleen!
I think that much like hapiness comes from within, so does enthusiasm. And the key to it all is gratitude.
Love Beyonce! Thanks coleen!

OMG, I love this video clip, ha, ha! I agree with Louise that the fan’s face was priceless!
I am a very enthusiastic person by nature, but what brings my enthusiasm to even a greater levels are my children (when they are nice and not nutty), my wonderful friends and family members. And, of course, my writer’s muse!

Music is my greatest source for enthusiasm. The right song at the right time can bring me out of any funk and put me in a better place. I start each morning listening to some of my favorite singer/songwriters while checking emails, etc. When it’s time to write, I’m ready to go!
