  1. I loved the post. Will keep it stored in that place in my memory with all the other really nice summer reminders.

  2. My highlight comes this Thursday when I board a plane for Orlando for my much-anticipated annual vacation. It’s been a whole year, a year I tell you, and I really REALLY need this get-away. I’ll report back on my highlight from this summer when I get home.

Thanks for sharing your memories. It all looks so cool.

    • Have an AWESOME time, Patricia!! Looking forward to hearing your highlights. :)

  3. Lovely. I love the bitter sweet goodbye photo especially. Oh summer, don’t go yet!

    • Bittersweet about covers it. It’s such a happy/sad mix. Thanks, Julia. :)

  4. My summer wasn’t so picturesque, but seemed similar in that there was a graduation, followed by a party, and college orientation, then all of a sudden, getting her dorm – wait a minute, yours still has keys? My daughter got a card! :D But otherwise looked remarkably similar!

    • That’s interesting that she got a card. Before move in day I was wondering about that. I’ll have to ask my daughter if the newer dorms have cards. Her dorm is definitely one of the older ones—my hub stayed in the very same dorm as she is in now!

  5. Loved this. For us: a road trip!

  6. Loved this. Such great pics as always that tell a story. My highlight? Completing a Warrior Dash in one piece after not competing in athletics for quite a while.

    Also, I want that donut!

    • Your Warrior Dash definitely looked cool, Phil. And yes, that donut was yum–didn’t taste gluten free at all.

  7. Beautiful pictures, Coleen! Congrats to your daughter and hugs to you.

  8. Loved your photography, its subject matter is very special and so is the photography.
Many blessing to you & your family. Its a very special time. Enjoy it. PS: I tried your
brownies with cc cookie on top, WOW!!! it was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed.
    thanks, pat

    • Oh, the BROOKIE. Isn’t it so yummy? So glad you tried it, Pat!

  9. Beautiful, Coleen. There’s so much fun in the photos you shared. Thank you. You take great pictures and I always look forward to seeing them.

  10. What a lovely and creative way to share the highlights of your summer. You really are an excellent photograher!

  11. So enjoyed your pictures.

  12. This is bringing me back to when my mom dropped me off at college for the first time! So emotional! Also, is that REALLY a gluten free doughnut?! If yes, I need it in my life. Now.

    • Yes, it’s really gluten free, BUT Sugar Shack isn’t doing anymore gluten free runs. However, this donut (which was yum)is proof that it is possible to make yummy GF donuts. :) I might experiment with recipes one of these days.

  13. Coleen, we were completely just crying “happy-tears” for you! It was a beautiful blog as usual, but this one touched Inion & I more so than any other. It brought back those memories when she was off to college, for the very first time in her life that she had ever left me and the memories came rushing back for both of us. How proud you must be of your beautiful daughter. And how excited she must be to begin her new adventure in life. BTW~we want to borrow your view, when we start our next book.lol That! That’s a view! Thank you for sharing these amazing photo’s and letting us see into your world & beautiful family. On another note, Inion & I have nominated you for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. So when you get a chance, pop on over to our blog & grab your award!

  14. Wonderful images. Love the dorm room … so quaint and cozy. :)

    • Thank you! Cozy is a nice adjective. Those rooms are small! :)

  15. Love the picture post, Coleen. What a great way to wrap up the summer.
I think the summer reading pic is my favorite. Books and trees – you can’t go wrong.

    • I’m partial to that scenery too. A book and a tree view kind of just make it easier to breathe. :)

  16. Thanks for sharing your summer, Coleen. Oh, I remember how hard it was to drop off a child at college. I feel for you, but your visits to campus will be sweet. (Absence made my kids fonder of their dad and me.)

    • I could use a little more of the “fonder”–thanks, Pat!! :)

  17. Some really beautiful pics and moments, here Coleen. Love the summer rain and lake in particular, but it looks like it’s been a big summer for you and your daughter especially. Times to cherish. Since it has been winter here, I’d have to say the highlight for me has been saying goodbye to it! :)

    • Yes, I’d be doing the same to winter too. I used to like winter, probably because there was the chance of a snow day and no school, but I can’t tolerate the cold anymore. Brrr. Thanks, Alarna!
