It is my ambition to say in ten sentences what others say in a whole book.
~Friedrich Nietzsche
How about telling that story in six words Nietzsche?
Ernest Hemingway is reputed to have done it:
“For sale: Baby shoes, never worn.”
Over at Smith Magazine they take this flash fiction concept and make it more personal, “celebrating the joy of passionate, personal storytelling.”
They call it the Six Word Memoir Project.

“A sake mom, not soccer mom.”
~Shawna Hausman
“The miserable child leads to royalties.”
~Frank McCourt
Both their book series and the Smith Mag’s site are filled with six words on a range of topics including love, inspiration and parenting. You can even instantly publish your own six word memoir on the site. I did!
“Making it up as I go.”
Tell me, what’s your story in six words?

Oh, man! I have to think!
“Braver than I used to be.”
Taking one step at a time.
Lengthen my attention span “Ooh squirrel!”
LOL!
Very funny! Are you related to my dogs?
Ha, ha Susanna. Might be lol.
Funny Catherine!

Loving my family to the fullest !
I just love that baby shoes one. Lemme mull over this one. I had to describe myself in 5 words for a previous job’s wall of teachers and I said, “Completely devoid of humor. Natch.”
